Artist Bio:
Johnny Maestro, born as John Mastrangelo on May 7, 1939, was an American singer and performer best known as the lead singer of the doo-wop group The Crests. The group achieved success in the late 1950s with hits like "Sixteen Candles" and "Step by Step." Maestro's distinctive tenor voice and charismatic stage presence contributed to the group's popularity during that era.

After The Crests disbanded, Maestro went on to join The Del-Satins and later formed The Brooklyn Bridge in the late 1960s. The Brooklyn Bridge's biggest hit, "The Worst That Could Happen," reached the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1969. Maestro continued to perform with The Brooklyn Bridge for decades, solidifying his reputation as a talented vocalist and entertainer. He passed away on March 24, 2010, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances and timeless music.
