Artist Bio:
Johnny Maestro, born John Mastrangelo, was an American singer known for his work as the lead vocalist of the doo-wop group The Crests. The group found success in the late 1950s and early 1960s with hits such as "16 Candles" and "The Angels Listened In." Maestro's distinctive voice and charismatic stage presence earned him the nickname "The Voice of The Crests."


After The Crests disbanded, Maestro continued to perform and record music with various groups, including The Del-Satins and The Brooklyn Bridge. He enjoyed a successful career in the music industry and was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004. Maestro passed away in 2010 at the age of 70, leaving behind a legacy of timeless music and unforgettable performances that continue to be celebrated by fans of doo-wop and oldies music.
