He was also influential in the development of the Southern California rock sound.
Rivers achieved success with his live album "Johnny Rivers at the Whisky à Go Go," which was recorded at the famous Los Angeles nightclub in 1964. Throughout his career, he has released over 30 albums and continues to perform live and record music. Rivers was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2010, recognizing his contributions to the music industry.
