Artist Bio:
Johnny Thunder, born as Gil Hamill, was an American rock and roll singer and songwriter. He is best known for his hit song "Loop De Loop" which peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1963. Thunder was a member of several different bands throughout his career, including The Drifters and The Levee Singers. He also released music as a solo artist, with his unique vocal style and energetic performances setting him apart from his contemporaries.


Despite his success in the 1960s, Johnny Thunder's career was cut short by personal struggles with substance abuse. He passed away in 1988 at the age of 55. Thunder's music continues to be celebrated by fans of early rock and roll, with "Loop De Loop" remaining a classic of the era.
