Johnny Tillotson is an American singer-songwriter who achieved success in the early 1960s with a series of pop and country hits. He was born on April 20, 1938, in Jacksonville, Florida. Tillotson signed with Cadence Records and released his debut single, "Dreamy Eyes," in 1958, which became a moderate hit. He followed this with several more successful singles, including "Poetry In Motion" and "It Keeps Right On A-Hurtin'."
Tillotson's smooth tenor voice and heartfelt delivery endeared him to fans, and he became known for his romantic ballads. He continued to record and perform throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with some of his other notable songs including "Talk Back Trembling Lips" and "Send Me the Pillow You Dream On." Tillotson was inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame in 1998, recognizing his contributions to the music industry.
