Artist Bio:
Johnny Tillotson is an American singer-songwriter born on April 20, 1939, in Jacksonville, Florida. He is best known for his country and pop music hits from the late 1950s to the early 1960s. Tillotson's musical career began in his teenage years when he started performing in local talent shows and on radio programs. In 1958, he signed a recording contract with Cadence Records and released his first hit single, "Dreamy Eyes," which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.


Tillotson went on to have several more successful singles, including "Poetry in Motion" and "It Keeps Right On A-Hurtin'," both of which reached the top 10 on the charts. Throughout his career, he continued to release music and perform live, gaining a dedicated fan base. Tillotson was inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame in 1990, recognizing his contribution to the music industry.
