The band originally consisted of members Neal Schon (guitar), Gregg Rolie (keyboards, lead vocals), Ross Valory (bass), George Tickner (guitar), and Aynsley Dunbar (drums). They gained popularity in the late 1970s and 1980s with a series of hit songs, including "Don't Stop Believin'," "Any Way You Want It," and "Open Arms."
Journey has gone through several lineup changes over the years, with Steve Perry joining as lead vocalist in 1977 and becoming one of the band's most recognizable members. Their music is characterized by catchy melodies, soaring vocals, and a blend of rock and pop influences.
