Jr. Walker & The All Stars was an American soul and R&B band formed in the 1960s. The group was led by saxophonist and vocalist Junior Walker, whose raspy voice and energetic saxophone playing were distinctive elements of their sound. The band's biggest hit came in 1965 with the song "Shotgun," which reached the top spot on the R&B charts and peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100.
Known for their energetic live performances and tight musicianship, Jr. Walker & The All Stars were signed to the iconic Motown label and became one of the label's most successful acts. Over the course of their career, the band released a string of hits including "What Does It Take (To Win Your Love)" and "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)." Jr. Walker & The All Stars were inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame in 2005 in recognition of their contributions to the music industry.
