Artist Bio:
Jr. Walker & The All Stars were an American soul and R&B band formed in the early 1960s. The group's frontman and namesake was saxophonist Junior Walker. They achieved success with their energetic live performances and hits such as "Shotgun" and "What Does It Take (To Win Your Love)." Jr. Walker & The All Stars were known for their signature sound, which combined Walker's distinctive saxophone playing with a driving rhythm section and soulful vocals. They were signed to the Motown label and became one of the label's most successful acts in the 1960s.
The band continued to record and perform throughout the 1970s and 1980s, although they never quite reached the same level of success as they did in the 1960s. Jr. Walker & The All Stars were inducted into the Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame in 2013. Walker himself passed away in 1995, but the music of Jr. Walker & The All Stars continues to be celebrated for its infectious energy and soulful groove.
