Judy Collins is an American singer and songwriter born on May 1, 1939, in Seattle, Washington. She is best known for her eclectic mix of folk, pop, and rock music, as well as her ethereal soprano voice. Collins began her music career in the early 1960s, releasing her debut album "A Maid of Constant Sorrow" in 1961. She gained widespread recognition with her cover of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides, Now" in 1967, which won her a Grammy Award for Best Folk Performance.


Throughout her career, Collins has released over 50 albums and has had numerous chart-topping hits, including "Send in the Clowns" and "Someday Soon." She is also a respected activist, advocating for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Collins continues to perform and record music, cementing her legacy as a pioneering figure in the folk music genre.
