Artist Bio:
Katrina and the Waves were a British-American rock band formed in 1981. The band's lead vocalist was Katrina Leskanich, with the Waves consisting of Kimberley Rew, Vince de la Cruz, and Alex Cooper. They achieved their greatest success with their 1985 hit single "Walking on Sunshine," which reached the top 10 in multiple countries and has since become a popular feel-good anthem. In 1997, they won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Love Shine a Light," representing the United Kingdom. The band released several albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, with their music characterized by upbeat, catchy pop-rock tunes.


Despite their initial success, Katrina and the Waves eventually disbanded in 1999. Katrina Leskanich continued to pursue a solo career after the band's breakup. She released a solo album in 2005 and has also worked as a radio DJ. The band's music continues to be celebrated for its energetic sound and positive vibes, with "Walking on Sunshine" remaining a beloved classic in popular music.
