Kayak is a Dutch progressive rock band that was formed in 1972 in Hilversum, Netherlands. The band's original lineup consisted of Ton Scherpenzeel, Pim Koopman, Johan Slager, and Max Werner. Kayak is known for their symphonic and melodic rock sound, incorporating elements of progressive rock, pop, and classical music into their music.
The band released their self-titled debut album in 1973, which was well-received both in the Netherlands and internationally. Over the years, Kayak has released numerous albums, with their most recent studio album, "Seventeen," being released in 2018. Despite various lineup changes over the years, Kayak has maintained a dedicated fan base and continues to tour and perform live concerts.
