Artist Bio:
Kenny Rogers was an American singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer, born on August 21, 1938, in Houston, Texas. He emerged as a solo artist in the late 1970s and went on to become one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide. Rogers was known for his distinctive husky voice and a string of country and pop crossover hits, including "The Gambler," "Lucille," and "Islands in the Stream" with Dolly Parton. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.


Apart from his successful music career, Rogers also ventured into acting, appearing in movies and television shows. He starred in the popular TV movie series "The Gambler" and its sequels, which were based on his hit song. Rogers continued to perform and record music until his retirement in 2017. He passed away on March 20, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the music industry.
