Kenny Rogers & The First Edition was an American country rock band that was formed in 1967. The group's members included Kenny Rogers, Thelma Camacho, Mike Settle, Terry Williams, and Kin Vassy. They gained popularity in the late 1960s and early 1970s with hits such as "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)" and "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town."
The band was known for their eclectic musical style, blending elements of rock, pop, and country music. They released several successful albums and singles throughout their career. Kenny Rogers & The First Edition eventually disbanded in 1976, after which Kenny Rogers went on to have a successful solo career in country music.
