She is best known for her distinctive raspy voice and her hit song "Bette Davis Eyes," which topped the charts in 1981 and won her two Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Carnes began her music career in the 1960s and released her debut album in 1971. Throughout her career, she has released a total of 13 studio albums and has had several other chart-topping hits, such as "More Love" and "Crazy in the Night (Barking at Airplanes)." Carnes has also written songs for other artists and collaborated with notable musicians like Kenny Rogers and Barbra Streisand.
