Kim Carnes is an American singer-songwriter born on July 20, 1945, in Los Angeles, California. She is best known for her raspy voice and hit song "Bette Davis Eyes," which earned her a Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1982.
Carnes started her music career in the 1960s and gained success in the 1970s and 1980s with several hit songs and albums. Apart from "Bette Davis Eyes," some of her other popular songs include "More Love," "Draw of the Cards," and "Crazy in the Night (Barking at Airplanes)." Throughout her career, Carnes has released over a dozen studio albums and collaborated with other artists such as Kenny Rogers and Barbra Streisand.
