Artist Bio:
King Curtis and The Noble Knights were an American R&B group led by saxophonist King Curtis. The group was active in the 1950s and 1960s and was known for their energetic live performances and soulful sound. King Curtis started his career as a session musician, playing with artists like Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, and The Coasters before forming The Noble Knights.


The group released several singles, including the instrumental hit "Soul Twist" in 1962, which reached #1 on the Billboard R&B chart. King Curtis and The Noble Knights were influential in the development of soul and R&B music, and their music continues to be celebrated by fans of the genre. Tragically, King Curtis was stabbed to death in 1971, bringing an end to the group's career.
