King Curtis & The Kingpins were an American soul and R&B band led by saxophonist King Curtis. The Kingpins were a backing band for many well-known artists of the time, including Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, and The Coasters. They also released several albums under their own name, showcasing their unique blend of soul, R&B, and jazz influences. King Curtis & The Kingpins were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000, recognizing their significant contributions to the development of soul and R&B music.
