Kool Moe Dee, born Mohandas Dewese on August 8, 1962, is a pioneering American rapper and actor. He was a member of the influential hip-hop group, The Treacherous Three, before going solo in the 1980s. Kool Moe Dee is known for his innovative and complex rhymes, as well as his confident delivery and stage presence. He was one of the first rappers to win a Grammy Award, earning it for his hit song "Wild Wild West" in 1989.

Kool Moe Dee is also credited with being one of the first rappers to introduce the concept of battling in hip-hop, which he famously did against LL Cool J in the late 1980s. Throughout his career, Kool Moe Dee released several successful albums, including his self-titled debut album and the critically acclaimed "How Ya Like Me Now." He continues to be respected as a pioneer in the rap genre and a trailblazer for future generations of hip-hop artists.
