The group originally consisted of members Fred Alexander Jr., Norman Beavers, Marvin Craig, Thomas Shelby, and Mark Wood. Lakeside is best known for their hit songs "Fantastic Voyage" and "Raid," which both reached the top ten on the R&B charts in the late 1970s and early 1980s. They were signed to the Solar Records label and released several albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
