Lamont Dozier is an American songwriter and record producer, best known for his work as part of the songwriting team HollandΓÇôDozierΓÇôHolland. Born on June 16, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, Dozier collaborated with brothers Brian and Eddie Holland to write and produce hit songs for numerous Motown artists in the 1960s. Some of their most famous compositions include "Stop! In the Name of Love" by The Supremes and "Baby Love" by The Supremes.
After leaving Motown in the late 1960s, Lamont Dozier continued his successful songwriting career, working with artists such as Freda Payne, Chairmen of the Board, and The 100 Proof (Aged in Soul). He has received multiple awards for his contributions to the music industry and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1988.
