Larry Graham is an American bassist, singer, and songwriter, born on August 14, 1946, in Beaumont, Texas. He is best known for his innovative playing style and the development of the "slap and pop" technique on the electric bass guitar. Graham rose to fame as the bassist for the popular funk band Sly and the Family Stone in the 1960s and 1970s, contributing to hits like "Everyday People" and "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)."


In the late 1970s, Larry Graham formed his own band, Graham Central Station, which fused elements of funk, soul, and R&B. The band achieved success with songs like "Hair" and "One in a Million You." Graham has also had a successful solo career, releasing several albums and continuing to perform live. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 as a member of Sly and the Family Stone, cementing his legacy as a pioneering figure in funk music.
