Laura Branigan was an American singer and songwriter born on July 3, 1952, in Mount Kisco, New York. She rose to fame in the 1980s with hits like "Gloria" and "Self Control." Branigan's powerful voice and versatile range allowed her to explore various music genres, including pop, rock, and dance.


Throughout her career, Branigan released several successful albums, including "Branigan" (1982), "Self Control" (1984), and "Touch" (1987). She received Grammy Award nominations for her work and garnered a loyal fan base both in the United States and internationally. Unfortunately, Branigan passed away on August 26, 2004, at the age of 52 due to a brain aneurysm. Despite her untimely death, her music continues to be celebrated and remembered by fans around the world.
