Lee Andrews and the Hearts was an American doo-wop group formed in Philadelphia in 1953. The group consisted of lead singer Lee Andrews, as well as Jimmy McCalister, Roy Calhoun, Ted Weems, and Wendell Calhoun. They are best known for their hit song "Long Lonely Nights" released in 1957, which reached number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their music was characterized by Andrews' smooth vocals and the group's tight harmonies.
Lee Andrews and the Hearts were considered one of the pioneering groups in the doo-wop genre and influenced many artists that came after them. Despite not achieving widespread commercial success, they are remembered for their contributions to the doo-wop sound of the 1950s. Lee Andrews and the Hearts continued to perform and record music throughout the 1960s before disbanding in the early 1970s.
