Lee Greenwood is an American country music artist who was born on October 27, 1942, in South Gate, California. He is best known for his patriotic song "God Bless the USA," which was released in 1984 and has become a popular anthem in the United States. The song gained popularity during the Gulf War in the early 1990s and following the September 11 attacks in 2001. Greenwood has released more than 20 albums and has had several hit singles on the country music charts. In addition to his music career, Greenwood is also a philanthropist and has been involved in various charitable causes, including supporting military veterans and their families.


Greenwood has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to music and his support of the military.
