Barry eventually left the group to pursue a solo career, signing with Decca Records and achieving success with his solo single "1-2-3" in 1965. The song reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was certified gold.

Barry continued to release music throughout the 1960s, with songs like "Like a Baby" and "Somewhere" achieving moderate success.
