Russell was known for his distinctive style that blended elements of rock, blues, gospel, and country music. He was a prolific artist, releasing over 30 albums during his career.
Russell was a highly sought-after session musician and collaborated with numerous artists, including The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, and Bob Dylan. He is perhaps best known for his hit songs "A Song for You," "This Masquerade," and "Tight Rope." Russell was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011 for his contributions to music.
