Leroy Van Dyke is an American country music singer and guitarist born on October 4, 1929, in Missouri. He is best known for his hit song "Walk on By," which topped the country music charts in 1961 and crossed over to the pop charts, reaching the second spot. The song also earned Van Dyke a Grammy nomination for Best Country & Western Recording.
Van Dyke's music career spans over six decades, during which he released numerous albums and singles. In addition to "Walk on By," some of his other popular songs include "The Auctioneer" and "If a Woman Answers." Van Dyke is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry, a weekly country music stage concert in Nashville, Tennessee, showcasing established and emerging country music artists.
