Lesley Gore was an American singer, songwriter, and actress who was born on May 2, 1946, and passed away on February 16, 2015. She rose to fame in the early 1960s with her hit song "It's My Party," which reached the top of the charts in 1963 when she was just 16 years old. Gore continued to release successful singles throughout the 1960s, including "You Don't Own Me" and "Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows."
In addition to her music career, Lesley Gore also appeared in several films and television shows, including the cult classic "The T.A.M.I. Show" in 1964. Gore was known for her strong, confident voice and her feminist anthems that challenged traditional gender roles. She was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2017 for her timeless contributions to music.
