Level 42 is a British band formed in 1979 on the Isle of Wight. The band's original lineup consisted of Mark King (bass, vocals), Mike Lindup (keyboards, vocals), brothers Phil (guitar) and Boon Gould (guitar), and Phil Gould (drums). Level 42 achieved great success in the 1980s and 1990s with their fusion of pop, rock, and jazz-funk music.
The band is best known for hits such as "Lessons in Love," "Something About You," and "Running in the Family." Their music often features Mark King's distinctive slap bass technique and catchy melodies. Level 42 has released multiple albums over the years, with their most successful being "World Machine" in 1985. Despite several lineup changes over the years, Mark King has remained a constant member of the band and continues to perform with Level 42 to this day.
