Artist Bio:
Linda Scott is an American pop singer who achieved success in the early 1960s. Born Linda Joy Sampson on June 1, 1945, in Queens, New York, she was discovered by songwriter and record producer Howard Greenfield. Scott's biggest hit was the song "I've Told Every Little Star," which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1961. The song is considered a classic of the Brill Building sound, a style of pop music that emerged from the Brill Building in New York City.
In addition to "I've Told Every Little Star," Linda Scott had other charting singles such as "Don't Bet Money Honey" and "Count Every Star." She continued to record music throughout the 1960s but did not achieve the same level of success as with her early hits. Linda Scott's music is often remembered for its innocent and dreamy quality, reflective of the early 1960s pop sound.
