He first gained fame as a member of the popular R&B group, The Commodores, in the 1970s. Richie later launched a successful solo career, becoming one of the best-selling artists of all time with hits such as "Hello," "All Night Long (All Night)," and "Dancing on the Ceiling."


Throughout his career, Lionel Richie has won multiple Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for his album "Can't Slow Down" in 1985. He has also received numerous other accolades, such as an Academy Award for his song "Say You, Say Me" from the film "White Nights."
