Lisa Loeb & Nine Stories is an American alternative rock band formed by singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb in 1990. The band's name "Nine Stories" is inspired by J.D. Salinger's book "Nine Stories." The group gained mainstream success with their hit single "Stay (I Missed You)" from the 1994 film "Reality Bites," which earned Loeb a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.


Lisa Loeb & Nine Stories released their debut album, "Tails," in 1995, which included the popular singles "Do You Sleep?" and "Taffy." The band's music is characterized by Loeb's introspective lyrics, catchy melodies, and her distinctive indie-pop sound.
