Artist Bio:
Little Eva, born Eva Narcissus Boyd on June 29, 1943, was an American singer known for her hit song "The Loco-Motion." She was discovered by songwriters Carole King and Gerry Goffin while working as a babysitter for them. They wrote "The Loco-Motion" for her, which became a massive success, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1962. The song sold over one million copies and was later covered by various artists.
Following the success of "The Loco-Motion," Little Eva released several other singles, including "Keep Your Hands Off My Baby" and "Let's Turkey Trot." Despite her initial success, she struggled to maintain a consistent presence on the music charts. Little Eva continued performing and recording music throughout the 1960s and 1970s but never replicated the success of her debut single. She passed away on April 10, 2003, at the age of 59.
