Little Milton, born James Milton Campbell Jr. on September 7, 1934, was an American blues and soul singer, guitarist, and songwriter. He began his musical career in the 1950s, recording for Sun Records and Chess Records before finding success with the Stax label in the 1970s. Little Milton is known for his smooth vocals, powerful guitar playing, and versatile style that blended blues, soul, and R&B influences.
During his career, Little Milton released numerous hit songs, including "Grits Ain't Groceries (All Around the World)" and "We're Gonna Make It," which both reached the top of the R&B charts. He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1988 and continued to perform and record music until his passing on August 4, 2005. Little Milton's legacy lives on as one of the most influential figures in blues and soul music, leaving behind a catalog of timeless recordings that continue to inspire musicians and fans alike.
