Little Richard, born Richard Wayne Penniman on December 5, 1932, was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist who was a key figure in the development of rock and roll music in the 1950s. Known for his high-energy performances, flamboyant style, and distinctive voice, Little Richard had a string of hits including "Tutti Frutti," "Long Tall Sally," and "Good Golly Miss Molly." He was one of the first artists to bring a mix of rhythm and blues, gospel, and boogie-woogie into mainstream popular music.


Little Richard was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and received a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award in 1993. He influenced countless musicians across different genres and his music continues to be celebrated for its impact on the evolution of rock and roll. Little Richard passed away on May 9, 2020, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of music.
