Little Richard, born Richard Wayne Penniman on December 5, 1932, was an American musician, singer, and songwriter who was a pivotal figure in the development of rock and roll. Known for his energetic performances, flamboyant style, and dynamic voice, Little Richard had a string of hits in the 1950s that became rock and roll classics, including "Tutti Frutti," "Good Golly Miss Molly," and "Long Tall Sally." His music was characterized by its frenetic pace, pounding piano, and uninhibited vocals, influencing countless artists in the rock and roll genre.


Little Richard was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993. He was also known for his androgynous image and openness about his sexuality, which was groundbreaking for its time. Little Richard passed away on May 9, 2020, leaving behind a lasting legacy as one of the pioneers of rock and roll music.
