Little Willie John was an American R&B singer and songwriter born in 1937 in Cullendale, Arkansas. He was known for his soulful voice and energetic stage presence. John's career took off in the late 1950s with hits like "Fever" and "Talk to Me, Talk to Me". He was a pioneer of soul music and was often credited with influencing later artists such as James Brown and Otis Redding.
Despite his musical success, John had a tumultuous personal life that included legal troubles. In 1966, he was convicted of manslaughter for fatally stabbing a man and was sentenced to prison. Tragically, John died in 1968 at the age of 30 while serving his sentence. Despite his short life and career, Little Willie John left a lasting impact on the music industry with his powerful voice and soulful songs.
