Little Willie John was an American R&B singer who was born on November 15, 1937, in Cullendale, Arkansas. He began his musical career at a young age, singing gospel music with his siblings before transitioning to R&B. John's powerful voice and dynamic stage presence quickly garnered attention, leading to a recording contract with King Records in the 1950s. He is best known for his hit songs "Fever" and "Need Your Love So Bad," which both reached the top of the R&B charts.
Despite his success, John's career was cut short due to personal issues and legal troubles. He was convicted of manslaughter in 1966 and served time in prison until his death on May 26, 1968, at the age of 30. Despite his relatively short career, Little Willie John left a lasting impact on the music industry and is remembered as a pioneering figure in R&B music.
