Little Willie John was an American R&B singer who was born on November 15, 1937, in Cullendale, Arkansas, and passed away on May 26, 1968, in Walla Walla, Washington. He was known for his powerful and emotive voice, often compared to that of Ray Charles, and his influential contributions to the rhythm and blues genre. John was also a talented songwriter, penning hits such as "Fever" and "Need Your Love So Bad."
Despite his relatively short career, Little Willie John made a significant impact on the music industry and influenced many artists who came after him. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. Tragically, John's life was cut short when he was convicted of manslaughter in 1966 and died in prison at the age of 30.
