Little Willie John was an American R&B singer born on November 15, 1937, in Cullendale, Arkansas. He was known for his powerful and soulful voice, often described as one of the greatest voices in R&B music. John began his music career at a young age, performing in gospel groups and eventually making a name for himself in the music industry.
John's most famous song is "Fever," which was released in 1956 and became a major hit, reaching number one on the R&B charts. He continued to release successful singles throughout the 1950s and 1960s, including "Talk to Me, Talk to Me" and "Sleep." Despite his talent and success, John's career was cut short when he was convicted of manslaughter in 1966 and sentenced to prison, where he tragically died in 1968 at the age of 30. Despite his short life and career, Little Willie John's impact on R&B music is still felt today, with his songs being covered by numerous artists over the years.
