Live is an American rock band formed in York, Pennsylvania in 1984. The band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Ed Kowalczyk, guitarist Chad Taylor, bassist Patrick Dahlheimer, and drummer Chad Gracey. Live gained popularity in the 1990s with their breakthrough album "Throwing Copper," which included hit singles such as "Lightning Crashes" and "I Alone."
The band's music is characterized by Kowalczyk's distinctive vocals and introspective lyrics, combined with a blend of alternative rock and post-grunge sound. Live has released a total of eight studio albums, with their most recent being "The Turn" in 2014. Despite lineup changes over the years, Live continues to tour and perform, with Kowalczyk rejoining the band in 2016 after a brief hiatus.
