Live is an American rock band formed in York, Pennsylvania in 1984. The band is known for their powerful live performances and emotional lyrics, often tackling themes of spirituality, self-discovery, and social issues. Live achieved mainstream success in the 1990s with their breakthrough album "Throwing Copper" released in 1994, featuring hit singles such as "Lightning Crashes" and "I Alone".
Live's original lineup consisted of Ed Kowalczyk (lead vocals, guitar), Chad Taylor (lead guitar, backing vocals), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass), and Chad Gracey (drums). The band has released a total of eight studio albums, with their most recent being "The Turn" in 2014. Despite lineup changes over the years, Live continues to tour and perform, maintaining a dedicated fan base drawn to their introspective and anthemic rock sound.
