LL Cool J, born James Todd Smith on January 14, 1968, is an American rapper, actor, and entrepreneur. He is considered one of the pioneers of hip-hop music and is known for his smooth delivery and lyrical prowess. LL Cool J stands for "Ladies Love Cool James," a moniker he adopted early in his career. He rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s with hits such as "I Need Love," "Mama Said Knock You Out," and "Going Back to Cali."


In addition to his successful music career, LL Cool J has also found success as an actor, appearing in films such as "Deep Blue Sea," "Any Given Sunday," and "Last Holiday." He is also known for his role as Special Agent Sam Hanna on the television series "NCIS: Los Angeles." LL Cool J has won numerous awards throughout his career, including two Grammy Awards and a Kennedy Center Honor.
