LL Cool J, born James Todd Smith on January 14, 1968, in Queens, New York, is an American rapper, actor, and entrepreneur. He is known for pioneering the subgenre of rap music known as "hardcore rap" with his aggressive lyrics and delivery. LL Cool J stands for "Ladies Love Cool James," a nickname he adopted early in his career. He released his debut album, "Radio," in 1985, which included the hit single "I Can't Live Without My Radio."


LL Cool J has released multiple successful albums throughout his career, including "Mama Said Knock You Out," "Mr. Smith," and "14 Shots to the Dome." In addition to his music career, LL Cool J has also found success as an actor, appearing in films such as "Deep Blue Sea," "Any Given Sunday," and the TV show "NCIS: Los Angeles." He has won multiple Grammy Awards and is considered one of the greatest and most influential rappers of all time.
