Artist Bio:
Lloyd Price was an American R&B singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur who gained prominence in the 1950s. He is best known for his hits "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" and "Stagger Lee." Price's music was a combination of R&B, rock and roll, and gospel influences, and he was known for his energetic and soulful vocal delivery. In addition to his singing career, Price also formed his own record label, KRC Records, and later worked in artist management and concert promotion.


Lloyd Price also led a band called Lloyd Price and His Orchestra, which accompanied him during his live performances and recording sessions. The orchestra provided a dynamic and polished musical backdrop to Price's powerful vocals, contributing to the success of his recordings. Together, Lloyd Price and His Orchestra produced a string of hits that helped shape the sound of R&B and rock and roll music in the 1950s and beyond.
