Lloyd Price was an American R&B singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur who was born on March 9, 1933, in Kenner, Louisiana. He achieved popularity in the 1950s with hits such as "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" and "Stagger Lee." Price was known for his smooth vocal delivery and energetic stage presence. In addition to his singing career, Price also had his own record label, KRC Records, and was involved in music publishing.


Lloyd Price often performed with his backing band, known as His Orchestra. The orchestra was known for providing a tight and dynamic musical accompaniment to Price's vocal performances. Price and His Orchestra were influential in the development of the R&B and rock and roll genres, with their music combining elements of blues, gospel, and early rock and roll.
