Artist Bio:
Lloyd Price was an American R&B singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. He was born on March 9, 1933, in Kenner, Louisiana, and passed away on May 3, 2021, in New Rochelle, New York. Price was known for his smooth vocal style and energetic stage presence, which helped him earn the nickname "Mr. Personality." He rose to fame in the 1950s with hits like "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" and "Stagger Lee," which both topped the R&B charts. Price was also a pioneer in the music industry, becoming one of the first African-American artists to own a record label, Double L Records.


In addition to his successful music career, Price was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2010. He continued to perform and record music throughout his life, leaving a lasting impact on the R&B and rock and roll genres.
