Price rose to fame in the 1950s with hits such as "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" and "Stagger Lee," which both reached number one on the R&B charts. He was also a talented songwriter and producer, contributing to the success of other artists in the industry.


In addition to his musical career, Price was a successful businessman, founding two record labels and a publishing company. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 for his contributions to the genre. Price continued to perform and record music throughout his life, leaving a lasting impact on the R&B and rock and roll genres. He passed away on May 3, 2021, at the age of 88.
