Lords of the Underground is an American hip hop group from Newark, New Jersey. The group was formed in 1990 and consists of members Mr. Funke, DoItAll, and DJ Lord Jazz. They are known for their energetic and aggressive style of rapping, as well as their use of funk and soul samples in their music. Lords of the Underground released their debut album, "Here Come the Lords," in 1993, which included the hit single "Chief Rocka." The group gained popularity in the 1990s and became known for their socially conscious lyrics and catchy hooks.


In addition to their debut album, Lords of the Underground released several other albums throughout the 1990s, including "Keepers of the Funk" and "Resurrection." They have collaborated with other hip hop artists such as Redman and KRS-One. Lords of the Underground continue to perform and release music, maintaining a dedicated fan base and a lasting influence on the hip hop community.
